Research suggests that 50-60% of Project Management Offices fail within the first 18 months of their existence! Not even taking into account a global pandemic within that 18 months! Jane Dowsley will talk about some of the challenges in creating a new Project Management Office and the opportunities and challenges COVID-19 has presented in regards to project delivery.

Guest Speaker: Jane Dowsley 
Jane started her working life as an IT Consultant implementing software solutions for various organisations including Toyota, Linfox and Monash University. She then spent years travelling the world implementing a business improvement project for BHP Billiton’s internal medical clinics in countries including USA, Canada, Chile and South Africa. 

Continuing in the mining industry, she then moved to Iluka Resources working on large construction projects including mine site development, after which a lifestyle move back to her roots, and extended family, in North East Victoria was in order.

In 2017 she joined Albury City Council consulting on corporate risk, and in 2019 was tasked to lead the development of a Project Management Office to improve project oversight and delivery. In March this year, Jane was seconded into the role of Crisis Management Facilitator for the COVID-19 pandemic at Albury City Council.

She has two young children and enjoys contributing to her local community in Yackandandah and working in her garden.
